United Way of Southwest Michigan just celebrated their 75th anniversary of serving Berrien and Cass counties with a banquet to acknowledge and applaud all the companies who raised funds in support of our community. The 2017 United Way Annual Campaign raised a record-breaking amount of $4,261,541, which surpassed 2016’s total of $4.1 million and Lindberg/MPH was proud to have not only been a contributor in this campaign but also an award winner.
Lindberg/MPH was awarded one of the Milestone Awards (2017 Trendsetter Award) at the banquet. In the announcement of the Trendsetter Awards, a United Way Representative stated, “These awards recognize successful company-employee campaigns, factoring in participation and implementation.” Lindberg/MPH’s Campaign Coordinator, Laura Richards, and Applications Engineer Kelley Shreve, attended the celebration and accepted the award.
This Milestone Award was earned by efforts from the Lindberg/MPH team, as 55% of the employees made a pledge. Lindberg/MPH held a week of activities to raise money, including a 50/50 raffle, a bake sale, a putting competition and nacho bar. Lindberg/MPH increased their giving goal from last year by 10% and blew that goal out of the water, reaching it by 138%.
The night wrapped up with a balloon drop as they announced the total amount raised by UWSM during their 75 years. That amount was an astounding $105,899,548. Lindberg/MPH is proud to have been a part of this event, as well as a part of the local community, and looks forward to what 2018 holds for UWSM.
